On February 21st , our Film Club will host a screening of “Old Baku is still alive”, a short film by an emerging director Murad Abiyev.
The main character Agarahim lives alone indulging in the memories of the past. Whilst drinking his regular tea in an empty apartment or taking endless walks through streets of Icherisheher, he continues to talk to his deceased wife. Among other things he tells her about a mysterious stranger who visits him every evening. This mysterious visitor pleads him to dispel from the ghosts of the past and get back to normal life. Will Agarahim listen to the stranger’s rhetoric or will he give up and opt for slow death. He has to choose now.
The film will be shown in Azeri.
