The famous Take 6 vocal sextet is to present a concert program at the Heydar Aliyev Center on December 8.
One of the most rewarded US bands and 10-times Grammy winner, this a capella group features a broad repertoire varying from gospel to jazz, R&B and pop music.
This time, Take 6 band represented by Claude McKnight III, Mark Kibble, Joey Kibble, David Thomas, Alvin Chea and Khristian Dentley is to present the Baku audience with an extraordinary mix of a variety of styles.
The band was arranged by Claude McKnight as The Gentleman’s Estate Quartet back in 1980 at Oakwood College, Alabama. In later years, the group was styled Alliance, whereas in 1987, while signing contract with Reprise Records the band adopted its present name Take 6 to avoid duplication with the same name band.
The first album by Take 6 featuring jazz and pop compositions got positive comments by the audience and jazz critics and won a true recognition to the band.
